Looking after your mental health and wellbeing at university

Which? University

I collaborated with a third party to plan, shape and edit the final piece which they wrote. This was informed by competitor and search analysis.

An editorial guide covering mental health and wellbeing for students living away from home for the first time.

This was a collaboration with Dr. Lucy Winrow of ProtectED (a UK higher education accreditation scheme for student safety and wellbeing). We leveraged her knowledge and understanding to speak to our large audience on a topic that we felt was beyond our expertise.

The piece looked at what can affect students’ mental health, warning signs to watch out for, factors to consider when moving to uni (with a pre-existing condition) and services available to students.

This was Which? University’s first prominent step into the mental health and wellbeing space, so the key aims were largely to inform and engage users and drive them to deeper content where appropriate. As we built out our content offering in this area, we developed further user journeys to these pieces.

While Lucy highlighted a number of studies and examples, we used this opportunity to surface in-house research and content curated from our audience.

Following the closure of the Which? University website, this piece now lives on The Uni Guide, which is managed by The Student Room.
