#CareerGoals: Playwright/theatre director Lynette
Which? University
An editorial Q&A spotlighting an emerging London-based playwright and director, covering her biggest inspirations and advice for aspiring creatives.
This piece contributed to a key stream in our content strategy: careers interviews that highlighted an ‘end goal’ for prospective students to aim for. Content included a number of onward journeys to relevant onsite content and tools including related subject guides and course results.
I considered topics and themes that prospective students would be interested to learn about and did some brief organic research to inform this. I then phrased questions in a way that would pull out these details and points. I was also keen to showcase interviewees’ personalities and any unique aspects of their experience.
The interviewee provided image assets that gave an intimate look into her professional life, in a format that the target audience could relate to (e.g. Snapchat content). These were used to supplement and break up copy, especially where answers were lengthy and could not be edited down further without losing key details.
I sourced interviewees in their early to late 20s so our audience could see themselves in their shoes within the next decade. This also meant that when interviewees spoke about their education and training, the information would likely still be relevant.
